LM Worker Reunion - Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Celebration
The Cradle of Aviation Museum will celebrate the most significant technological achievement in our history . . . landing a man on the moon. The museum will also use the celebration as an opportunity to focus on the next generation of space flight and Long Island’s continuing role.
12:00-4:00 PM Events
On July 12, from 12 noon until 4:00 p.m. the Cradle will invite all those who worked on the Apollo Program to be our guest at the Cradle of Aviation where they can gather with their fellow LM workers and visit with some of the Apollo astronauts. Fred Haise, Buzz Aldrin and Walter Cunningham have accepted our invitation. We are awaiting confirmation from several others.
The former Grumman audio visual staff will provide videos and NASA footage which will be shown throughout the museum.
We have also invited author Jonathan Ward who is writing a book All Systems Go: Apollo/Saturn Launch Operations at Kennedy Space Center and he will be here to discuss his book which should be out toward the end of the year.
Buffet Dinner 6:00 PM
The Cradle will host a buffet dinner at 6:00 PM with our astronauts. The cost is $50 for former LM workers and reservations are required. You may book your dinner reservation by calling the Cradle reservations line at 516-572-4066.
Each LM worker and a guest will receive free admission to the museum. Please join us for this very special celebration of the crowning engineering achievement of the 20th Century. For information regarding the reunion, please call Carol Nelson, 516-572-4026. And please spread the word to your former fellow Grumman LM colleagues!
