Join us every weekend from September 14th to October 27th, 2024, from 12 pm to 4 pm, for engaging self-guided activities.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions of Hispanic culture through hands-on musical instrument creations.
Learn about our honorees and the traditional instruments that represent their countries: Vanessa Galvez (El Salvador) and the Salvadorian Cup-on-a-Stick (Capirucho), the Aldasoro Brothers (Mexico) and the Mexican Piñata, and Jorge Chávez (Peru) and the Peruvian Pan-Flute (Siku).
- Salvadorian Cup-on-a-Stick (Capirucho): Create a traditional Salvadorian "Capirucho" and enjoy a timeless game.
- Mexican Piñata: Craft a colorful piñata and learn about this fun Mexican tradition of breaking it open for treats.
- Peruvian Pan-Flute (Siku): Make your own Peruvian pan-flute and discover the music of this ancient instrument.

Las Estrellas de Las Americas
Bilingual Planetarium Show
"Las Estrellas de las Americas," is a bilingual show that weaves together captivating Latin American mythology through immersive storytelling. Come with us from Long Island to South America as we explore the constellations and hear mythical stories from various South American cultures, as Educator Ines teaches us about stargazing and Greek mythology surrounding the constellations. Separate admission is required for planetarium shows.
