Astronomy and Space Day 2022
The Cradle of Aviation Museum is celebrating International Astronomy Day on May 7th!
The Amateur Observer’s Society (AOS) will be here to help us celebrate International Astronomy Day with solar telescopes, workshops and demos!
Programs include:
Astronomy and Telescopes - 12-4 pm
Thinking of getting a telescope? Ask the experts! AOS will answer any questions you have about star gazing on Long Island.
Astronomy Workshops – Timed sessions between 12-4 pm
Participate in workshops, current night sky programs, and demos led by members of AOS and the Cradle of Aviation Staff.
Workshops include:
• How Do the Sizes of the Planets Compare? (limited space)
• How do the Distances Between the Planets Compare? - Making a Solar System that Fits in Your Pocket (limited space)
• What are Eclipses and How Can We Model Them? (weather dependent)
Planetarium Shows (separate admission required - just a $5 add-on!)
