Popularized by the 1986 movie, “Top Gun”, the F-14 was always one of the most capable fighters in the sky. 

Our Felix 101 BuNo 164603 This aircraft was delivered to the Navy in May of 1992. Led the first manned combat mission in Operation Enduring Freedom (war in Afghanistan) when it bombed a mission site on October 7, 2001. The first F -14 to fire its gun in combat, while providing close air support to ground troops. Its last squadron was the VF-31 Tomcatters which used the call sign Felix as in Felix the cat.It is the last American F-14 to fly, October 4, 2006.
